Yellow Belt Gear List
Once you achieve your yellow belt, you need hand mitts and a groin guard (males) or chest guard (females).
Optional but recommended equipment includes a training bag.
Tokaido WKF approved Hand Mitts are for use in training at the dojo and all levels of competition from club level, Karate Vic events, AKF events and WKF events.
Available in Red and Blue.

The QP Sport CoolGuard Lycra Top / Bra is designed to securely hold CoolGuard chest protectors in place during martial arts and contact sports. Constructed from tactile Lycra fabric, the top offers a close, supportive fit while helping manage moisture during activity.
Specially designed internal pockets allow correctly shaped CoolGuard inserts to sit securely over the chest area. The design supports comfort, confidence, and freedom of movement during training and competition.
This top has passed European CE certification for use as a women’s martial arts chest protector when used with compatible CoolGuard inserts.
Green Belt Gear List
Once you achieve your green belt you need everything a yellow belt requires plus leg pads.
Optional but recommended equipment includes a gear bag.
Tokaido WKF approved Shin Instep Protectors are for use in training at the dojo and all levels of competition from club level, Karate Vic events, AKF events and WKF events.
Available in Red and Blue.
Required for green belt and above.
Squaddies Gear List
Squaddies require everything from the yellow and green belt sections, in addition to a body protector and set of red and blue competition belts.
Optional but recommended equipment includes a kata gi, kumite gi and training bag.
Squaddies are required to have a red and blue belt for all tournaments.
The TOKAIDO WKF Body Protector is compulsory for all squaddies. It is worn under the karate uniform and is designed to prevent impact from accidental punches in the chest and side by absorbing and distributing the force.
The exterior is made of high tech "CORDURA" fabric for resistance to tears, rips, and scuffs. The inner fabric utilizes COOLMAX technology with cushioning foam for comfort and strength.
Machine Washable on the gentlest cycles.
